#977 Orbic RC400L was working fine with Rayhunter installed and I went to check it, it is bricked

Orbic RC400L was working fine with Rayhunter installed. I went to check it and the screen says “Retrieving Data Usage Info”. There is no information in any of the screens I can access and I cannot get into the GUI. I tried factory resetting it and swapping the SIM card to no avail. It was installed around December and worked fine for several months. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

can you enter “installer orbic-shell” and poke around on the filesystem? possible that “df -h” shows a full disk?

I cannot get into the shell. it requires the password and I did not write it down. The Orbic no longer displays information in the wifi or any area. It opens the menu but everything is blank

this seems like the device is bricked then. the symptoms seem similar to #865 but whether it’s actually storage related I can’t tell.

Does the Orbic not FIFO the log file?

I located the password I had by checking the wifi’s I had logged into in the past. I tried to uninstall Rayhunter with command: ./installer util orbic-shell –admin-password mypassword using the password I retrieved and got:

Logging in and starting telnet… Failed to open shell on Orbic RC400L Caused by: 0: Failed to get login info 1: error sending request 2: client error (Connect) 3: tcp connect error 4: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. (os error 10060)

that seems to be a different error. is there any firewall that could break the connection? Can you open http://192.168.1.1 in a browser?

I get a failed to load page when I try to access http://192.168.1.1 in Edge and Firefox. I do not see the Orbic in my available wifi either.

This was working as of a week or two ago. I was able to connect via that IP address before.

Am I the only one reporting this issue with an Orbic RC400L? I was thinking maybe they pushed an update or otherwise disabled my SIM card. I have swapped to a different SIM card and still get this issue.

Can you navigate to setting and check if 2.4 or 5GHz is enabled, then go to that info page and double check the SSID and password and try connecting to the WIFI again? What kind of device are you connecting to android windows mac linux?
